Description

Giclee (jee-clay) is an advanced printmaking process for creating high quality fine art reproductions. Gallery wrap is a method of stretching an artist's canvas so that the canvas wraps around the sides and is secured a hidden, wooden frame. James Wiens is an avid lifelong outdoorsman, having grown up and settled in British Columbia surrounded by dramatic mountains and rivers. The result is wide acceptance of Giclee by galleries, museums, and private collectors. James is dedicated to his wife, children, and close-knit extended family. Artist: James Wiens Subject: Animals Style: Cottage/Country Product Type: Gallery-Wrapped Canvas Art This ready to hang, gallery-wrapped art piece features four white horses galloping through teal and brown patches of paint. This method of stretching and preparing a canvas allows for a frameless presentation of the finished painting. His artwork, primarily oil painting, reflects his love of nature and landscapes. James has applied the work ethic he gained on his family farm to his 30 year career as a professional artist. James studied at the Emily Carr College of Art & Design in Vancouver, earning a diploma in printmaking and painting. The attainable excellence that Giclee printmaking affords makes the reproduction virtually indistinguishable from the original piece.
